From April 9^th to 10^th, the 2024 Teacher-Student Table Tennis Tournament of International College(IC) was held as scheduled in the Fengyu Gymnasium of Zhangzhou Campus of Xiamen University. The competition is guided by the student working group of IC, and organized by the sports department of the student development center and the table tennis interest group.

In line with the principles of fairness, justice and openness, adhering to the competitive spirit of "friendship first, competition second", the competition was carried out in a friendly and orderly atmosphere. The competition has two events: men's team competition and women's singles, both of which have 11 balls in one game, and are divided into three stages: preliminary round, semi-final and final. In the preliminary round, the contestants flexibly used a variety of tactics and strategies, showed excellent individual skills, and constantly created wonderful scoring moments, the audience cheered continuously, and finally the four teams of "Bu da chang jiao Team", "Fan Jingxing Team" (teaching team), "Special Team" and "Table Tennis Team" successfully entered the semi-finals of the men's team; Huang Sixuan, Zhang Siyu, Ao Chenyu and Li Tong successfully entered the semi-finals of the women's team.

After two days of intense competition, the champions, runners-up and third place of the men's and women's teams in this competition were finally decided, of which the men's teams were "no long rubber team", "Fan jing Star team", "table tennis team", and the women's teams were Huang Sixuan, Ao Chenyu, Li Tong, Luo Liuhe, the instructor of the Physical Education Department of the Student Development Center, presided over the award ceremony, and Ma Xianghua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of IC, presented medals and prizes to the winning teams of Huawei, and encouraged everyone to continue to carry forward the enterprising spirit of hard work in the future.

After the game, the players of each team shook hands with their opponents and hugged each other and exchanged experiences. Mr. Xie Fan, a runner-up member of the men's team, said: "Thank you very much for the careful planning and organization of the student affairs team, this competition not only gives everyone the opportunity to show themselves, feel the charm of table tennis competition, gain valuable experience in teamwork and challenge and breakthrough in their own ability, but also provides a platform for teachers and students to exchange and learn, and enhance the friendship between teachers and students." Huang Sixuan, a 2022 business accountant student, the leader of the table tennis interest group of the International College said: "This table tennis competition is not only a physical exercise for me, but also a joy brought by sports. This kind of happiness is diverse, sometimes it is the excitement of the game, sometimes it is the laughter of watching others play, and sometimes it is the sincere emotion of working hard with teammates. The competition came to a successful conclusion.

This year marks the 103rd anniversary of the founding of Xiamen University and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the founder of Xiamen University. In order to further inherit the spirit of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, IC will continue to carry out a series of group activities of Sunshine Sports, and guide teachers and students of to actively participate in physical exercise through wonderful sports events, so as to enjoy fun in physical exercise and enhance physical fitness.
