On May 23 the “University of Toulouse Day” held by Xiamen University (XMU), Zhu Chongshi, President of XMU, and Jean-Pierre Vinel, President of University of Toulouse 3 (UT3) signed an inter-university cooperation agreement on behalf of the two universities, with an aim to furthering their cooperation. After the opening ceremony, Laurent Grosclaude, Vice President of University of Toulouse (UT), Jocelyne Sourisseau, director of Frenchas a Second Language major, RaduBarna director of international affairs and Wang Xiaokang, standing representative of UT in China paid a visit to International College (IC) to learn about it comprehensively.
In the afternoon, Professor Zheng Tongtao, President of Overseas Education College (OEC)/IC and Huang Guanhua, Vice President of OEC/IC received the distinguished guests from UT and had a panel discussion with them in A104, Kunluan Building. Teachers in charge of teaching management, programme cooperation, academic and research affairs participated in the discussion. Both parties explored on the cooperation of Sino-French cooperative 2+2 bachelor programme and 1+2master programme and short-term student exchange programme, etc.
President Zheng introduced the development of IC and international cooperative programmes in recent years. He stated that IC has established cooperation with over 60 universities in more than ten countries, including Reims Management School from France, with which a cooperative 3+2master programme has been established. With experience in international cooperation and joint cultivation of students, it is hoped that IC would have the opportunity to cooperate with UT in majors of economics, management, logistics and French, etc. Laurent Grosclaude applauded IC on its achievements of international cooperation, and introduced the history, location, research abilities, subject setting and international student exchange of UT. He hoped that both parties could deepen their cooperation in the future.
After the panel discussion, President Zheng showed Laurent Grosclaude and other guests the buildings, exhibition rooms and coffee shops of IC. They were deeply impressed by IC’s high quality facilities and attractive environment.
