Focus on the leading edge of the industry and practice comprehensive revenue management -- Michael Schmitt, general manager of Conrad Xiamen, Visited the second class leading edge lecture of our school.
On November 14th afternoon, general manager of Xiamen Conrad, our guest professor Michael Schmitt, visit our college’s second classroom frontier lecture. He brought a lecture whose theme is revenue management for our teachers and students, aiming to help students further understand the importance of revenue management in hotel management and the specific application process, broaden students' field of vision, to better grasp the combination of theory and practice. The lecture was hosted by Ms. FU, vice President of education college/international college, and attended by Cici, secretary of general manager of Conrad hotel, JIN Kaiqi, secretary of foreign affairs, hotel management teachers and all students.
Vice President FU Wanli first extended a warm welcome to general manager Michael Schmitt for his return. As a famous international hotel manager, Mr. Schmitt has both high theoretical attainment and more than 20 years of rich experience in hotel industry management. Led by Mr. Schmitt, Conrad hotel has now become the leading enterprise of Xiamen luxury hotels and won many awards from hotels in greater China. Since the establishment of the school-enterprise partnership, Conrad hotel has provided internship opportunities for 15 students majoring in hotel management at grade 16 of our school. Under the careful guidance and training of staff from all departments of the hotel, the students have gained a lot. Vice President FU Wanli expressed her gratitude to Conrad hotel for its long-term support to our hospital.
In his lecture, Mr. Schmitt first introduced the concept of income management in a concise and clear way, and made a clear explanation of the right product, the right channel, the right price, the right time and the right customer. Then he introduced the implementation steps of revenue management including prediction, optimization, control and monitoring, as well as specific algorithms including occupancy rate (OCC), average housing price (ARR), revenue per salable room (RevPAR) and relevant strategies to implement revenue management.During the lecture, Mr. Schmitt always closely combined with the actual operation of Conrad hotel and deepened the students' understanding of the importance of revenue management in hotel management decisions with vivid and specific examples. His logical, well-explained and fully interactive speech style left a deep impression on all the teachers and students.The lecture drew to a close with warm applause.
