The people's Bank of China is scheduled to issue a set of gold and silver commemorative coins for the centenary celebration of Xiamen University on March 27, 2021, including one gold commemorative coin and one silver commemorative coin, both of which are legal tender of the people's Republic of China.
Xiamen University is the fourth university in China that has been approved by the people's Bank of China to issue gold and silver commemorative coins with the theme of centenary famous universities. Previously, the people's Bank of China issued gold and silver commemorative coins with the Centenary celebration theme for Tsinghua University, Central Academy of Fine Arts and Nankai University.
The front of this set of gold and silver coins is the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China with the country’s name and year, and the back is a combination design such as the Xiamen University School Day logo
The back of the 8g round gold commemorative coin is the main figure of the 100th Anniversary Logo of Xiamen University, with the combination design of phoenix pattern, and the Chinese characters of the 100th anniversary of Xiamen University and the English characters of Xiamen University Centenary Celebration and denomination. This commemorative coin contains 8 grams of pure gold, 22 mm in diameter, 100 yuan in denomination, 99.9% in fineness, with a maximum circulation of 10000.
On the back of the 30g round silver commemorative coin are the design of Qunxian buildings of Xiamen University, the statue of Tan Kah Kee and the motto of Xiamen University, with the combination design of phoenix pattern, and the Chinese characters of the 100th anniversary of Xiamen University and the English characters of Xiamen University Centenary University and the denominations. The commemorative coin contains 30 grams of pure silver, 40 mm in diameter, 10 yuan in denomination, 99.9% in fineness, with a maximum circulation of 30000.

The set of gold and silver commemorative coins were cast by Shenzhen Guobao Mint Co., Ltd. and distributed by China Gold Coin Corporation. The first batch of sales is sold to Xiamen University alumni students, faculty and staff. Online registration and reservation will start at 12:00 noon on March 27.
