On the afternoon of November 1, 2016 CSCSE-SQA HND exchange meeting, hosted by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, and undertaken by the International College of Xiamen University, was held in Kunluan Building, Xiang’an campus. Each year International College held this exchange meeting around November, providing students who intend to study abroad with good opportunities to communicate with foreign programme cooperative universities, which is helpful for students to collect useful information for their abroad life.

Exchange meeting started from2 pm, representatives of the foreign cooperative universities and the experts from the Working Group of the Overseas Study Service Center of the Ministry of Education of China, provided the students with the latest information on the profession connections, admission conditions, fees and campus environment, and explained about study abroad applications, institutions and visa procedures. Compared to previous years, there are more bright spots in this year's meeting.
1. The number of participating universities increased
There are 24 universities from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and other countries attended in the meeting. Among then, United States International University of Science and Technology, Australia's Central Queensland University and some other schools are the first time to visit International College. Representatives of foreign universities were extremely patient to answer the questions raised by students, and left their contact information to facilitate further contact with students after the meeting.

2. A variety of display means
The school's brochures, posters have been unable to meet the needs of students, and many schools are equipped the booth with the IPADs, laptop, which took turns to play the photos, videos of the schools in order to show students the life of foreign universities, and University of the West of England brought the latest VR (virtual reality) equipment. With VR equipment, students can know more about the school campus, dormitory, classroom, library through the incomparable real VR image in all directions.

3. Quality of students improved significantly
According to the feedbacks from the delegations who participated the exchange meeting this year, the quality of international students has been significantly improved. The teacher from Bradford University, who received the “Three Crown” (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) certified by business school said that there were many questions related to the language requirements of our school, and many students have achievedIELTS 5.5 or even 6.0 so far. Representatives from University of Hull also said that the IELTS scores of many students who came to consult have already fulfilled the academic entry requirements, without pre-sessional courses. However, students were still very concerned about language classes, hoping to adapt to school life in advance.

After the exchange meeting, the consultant of the study abroad working group of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange gave the lecture in terms of preparations for students intending to study abroad after programme studies in China, explaining the latest policy of studying abroad and changes in IELTS test, providing more detailed guidance, and sincerely hoping students can lay foundation to study abroad next year.
