On the morning of Dec 28, Lecturer Sam from the University of South Wales gave a lively lecture talk to students majoring in Business Accounting, Financial Service and Global Trade Business in Room C302 and C402 Building 2. Sam introduced the founding philosophy, course features and entry requirements to help students further understand the University of South Wales.
The University of South Wales was formed in 1893 with three main campuses located across South Wales including Cardiff and Newport. It has an estimated total number of 33,500 students and is the sixth largest in the United Kingdom. The Complete University Guide has ranked the university’s Accounting and Finance as among the top five in Britain since 2001. The University of South Wales is an outstanding ACCA approved teaching centre and is an ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner, the highest level of accreditation that a tuition provider can obtain.
HND students from our college are entitled to up to four exemption exams from ACCA and a certain amount of scholarship if they apply to enter the University’s final undergraduate study in Accounting and Finance. Moreover, the living expenses in Wales are low. The annual tuition fee for undergraduate study and living expenses cost about 150,000RMB. The University also offers a 50% discount to students who carry on to their master’s study. Therefore, the annual amount of tuition fee and living expenditure is about 120,000 in postgraduate study.
Besides competitive specialized areas, reasonable costs, the University of South Wales also provides a lot of support in life and academic study including 30 hours intensive language tutoring every week and free one to one airport pick-up and medical care at the Health Centre, and as well as part-time and internship opportunities.
