Recently, Xiamen University announced the winners of the 15th teaching competition. Xie Hao, a teacher selected by International College, won the first prize in the English Teaching Competition. A total of 95 teachers from 37 colleges, departments and affiliated units participated in the competition. The Xiamen University Teaching Competition is jointly organized by the Teacher Development Center, the University Trade Union, the Academic Affairs Office, the Teacher Work Department, and the Personnel Office, which is an important platform for testing the teaching level of young teachers and cultivating the strength of the new generation. 1. Encourage full participation, attach importance to selection and incentive within the college.
Before participating in the school level teaching skills competition, the college organized a teaching skill competition within the scope of the college, and encourage all teachers to participate without age limit. At the same time, the college provides supporting funds to reward the teachers who won the prize in the competition in the college according to the school level competition standard 1:1, so as to improve the enthusiasm of teachers in the competition.
2. Build a platform for exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers to improve teaching.
In the college competition, the college invited foreign teachers to participate in the grading to help the participating teachers correct grammatical errors and polish the courseware. In daily teaching, in addition to the teachers sent to the college by foreign cooperative colleges and universities, the college widely invites world-renowned professors and scholars to give lectures for teachers and students. Professors and scholars from Cornell University, Southampton University and other world-class universities have come to our college to give lectures. The college arranges young teachers as teaching assistants to deeply participate in lesson preparation and classroom teaching, which has achieved remarkable results in the rapid learning and growth of young teachers. At the same time, teachers are sent to study abroad to reform teaching methods and improve teaching standards.
3. Invite experts and the previous award-winning teachers to share their experience.
During the competition, the trade union of International College held a series of "teaching and training activities", invited experienced experts to hold special lectures to share teaching experience, and arranged senior teachers of the college to guide the contestants, so as to help teachers improve their teaching skills. In addition, the college organizes teacher exchange meetings and class evaluation activities, so that the participating teachers can have teaching exchanges with previous award-winning teachers, and give the participating teachers the greatest guidance and help.
4. Actively listen to the needs of teachers and help the development of young teachers.
In view of the reality of running across campuses this year, Dean Tao has gone deep into the frontline of teaching many times, held discussions with teachers, and listened to their voices and needs. According to teachers' feedback, adjust teachers' attendance and working time, which provides guarantee for teachers to participate in training and competitions, scientific research exchanges, and improve the teaching level.
