There are lots of teachers participated in this competition, 55 teachers from 23 different colleges with specific academic background in Xiamen University eventually entered the final competition. Seasoned teachers with 26 years teaching experience took part in this competition as well as 7 professors (including Thousand Talents Program, Minjiang Scholars Distinguished Professor), made the competition with the greatest number of professors participating ever. Under such tough circumstances, it was fairly difficult for our young teachers to win prizes.
In addition, the Flipped-Classroom Group was first showed up in public. 6 teachers participated in this competition within 2 of them from International College. Talking about the Flipped Classroom Competition, Group Leader of Art Research Group, Lecturer Ms. Zeng Shufan said that exchanging roles meant turning the process of teaching and learning completely, making students study on their own. This teaching method was of great charm, requiring more excellent teaching ability, which was a really kind of teaching student in accordance with their aptitude. It was a long process of choosing the topic, shooting the video and the final discussion, which was also a process of self-learning. This kind of teaching method made very high request of teachers’ controlling ability and fundamental quality. Lecturer Ms. Zeng Shufan said she had got further improving space and objectives during this process. It was not only a challenging competition, but also a glamorous study opportunity.
