Alumni:Cai Zi , entered the International College of Xiamen University in 2009,majoring in business administration. In 2011, he proceeded to Queen Mary University of London for his last two years of bachelor degree.
After one semester studying abroad in London, the initial excitement and freshness for this charming financial city have been gradually disappeared with the busy study. One thing that deeply touches me is that you have to master the ability of self-study when studying abroad, which actually is a process to discover and solve problems. Most of overseas students will feel lonely, but that is the main cause to make you gradually become mature, sensible, and independent and confidently live in a strange city.
In life, you need to learn to have a balanced diet and reasonably arrange schedules. I have kept trying new recipe and gradually improve my cooking. However, sometimes I have to order take-out or fast food when I am busy with the study. Moreover, I will play basketball with classmates at weekends to relief pressure.
Speaking is the biggest problem for my study, perhaps because of different ways of thinking and expression. When talking with classmates or strangers, usually I will get the answer of SORRY or PARDON. Hence, i wish all the students who intend to study in England will catch the chances to practice your oral English, lay a solid foundation and embrace the new life more confidently.
I suggest all of you can constantly cultivate self-control and independent learning awareness, and improve the reading ability as early as possible during the time in the International College. Due to great pressure will be on when there are a lot of exams and assignments, good reading skills will benefit you. Besides, remember to improve the capacity of participation in individual or group presentation.
Lastly, i do hope everyone can cherish the time, seize the the opportunity, and focus on the future!
