The 7th Network Originality Competition (NOC) was held during Nov. 21-22 in Taiyuan City of Shanxi Province. The national event was permitted by State Intellectual Property Office, and organised by China Association of Higher Education, China Association of Inventions and China Association for Educational Technology. Among over 1,000 candidates from more than 100 colleges and universities, 4 second-year students of the Arts Programme (supervised by Ms Zeng Shufan) of the International College won prizes. They are Second-Prize Winner LI Jingru, Third-Prize Winners Zhang Yiyuan and WANG Yichu, as well as Merit Prize Yang Xiaotang.
Innovation and Creativity have always been the teaching focus of the International College. Students are encouraged to participate in design competitions at different levels. Judges of the 7th NOC gave very positive feedback on our candidates' work in visual art and professionalism. The sketchbook designed for work presentation was also highly recognised by the judges and other universities.
The Network Originality Competition (NOC in short) is a national event aiming at fostering innovation, employability and awareness of intellectual property. It has been held for 6 years since 2009 and attracts candidates from top-tier universities in the design field such as Xiamen University, Jinan University, Dalian University of Technology, Jiangnan University and Donghua University, etc.
